Detour? Hell I saw the whole thing!

Bad weather has gripped the area with wide temperature swings, powerful winds, and more rain and snow than we can handle. I didn’t dare venture to downtown Charleston where a water main and the rain led to a street collapse on Capitol Street. On this day, however, I continued on with my normal routine until I reached Big Creek in Chapmanville where the road was swallowed up by the Big Creek which was living up to its name. After tempting fate enough with my Walmart Spark orders I switched to DoorDash and took a few orders out toward Vista View apartments. A detour was unavoidable. I did manage to get some footage of the actual complex including the inside of building 1. I want to get enough footage together to do a documentary on Charleston regarding the upheaval of Interstate Highway construction in the 1970s. We had our own brush with urban renewal, low income housing, and the destruction of inner city neighborhoods. You know, our “Pruett-Igoe” so to speak.
