I am on some authenticity and genuineness kick, but not in the usual selfish way. I want to be more selfless but not totally selfless. Looking for that middle ground again. I must retain a minute amount of selfishness too. Why? Well no one will ever love my life the way I can. Is that the essence of the uniqueness we experience? I honestly don’t have it in me for much of a blog post / journal entry today. With the imminent move (we did sign a lease and get a key today) I have been a bit at my wits end. These are pretty much journal entries, and are equally cathartic and therapeutic for myself. This is why I share them openly, not to mention the accountability that it gives me to myself and others. So anyway…
I thought it would be a good time to talk about giving yourself grace so you can really give it to others. After all if you can’t forgive yourself you can’t forgive others. Furthermore if you are always forgiving others then you probably are not putting so much negativity out in the world. People will be more drawn to you if you are positive and forgiving. Lastly this puts everything in the right perspective to live life in the present. That is where we most need to be! You can be present for the people you care about NOW. You can not live in the future yet, and the past is only to visit because you can’t do anything there but remember.
