As I embark on my journey of finding the middle road, being positivity, being productive, and changing the world by changing myself first; I am continuously confronted with a problem in my soul… I take life for granted, and I’m not always grateful to be alive.
Now some of you are probably thinking that sounds crazy, and it is kind of. I used to exist and live only in that state of ungrateful. Now it only comes to visit for short times. I would tell it to go away I don’t want to visit, but it would just insist and show up anyway. Best to not make any waves and not be noticed!
So, my old friend misery comes to visit on occasion, and when she wants my company, I remind her that I am grateful for her company in my own way. Why? Because if in the end the love you take is equal to the love you make; this time spent with misery will pay dividends in extasy later!
You don’t know what you haven’t experienced until you do. It might be perfectly logical for an infant to be born into a world where just existing and having basic needs met would result in complete satisfaction with the status quo. If that infant never experienced any true hardship or uncertainty maybe that would lead to a healthy happy individual? I don’t think that would be the case because that is unnatural of an environment as one could exist in. No misery must come visit so I can appreciate the primal beauty of the warm sun on my skin.
As we solve problems in our lives, we will see the list of problems never shrinks. It only changes, adapts, and grows with us. It is the process that is life not the experience!
